Being fascinated with the pendulum with its hypnotic effects, I engage the simple pendulum lab.  As I expected the heavier the pendulum with more mass, the wider its able to swing with more kinetic energy involve.   Based on the same length, mass and gravity,  from small, medium, big and fast exhibits increase in swing angle of -0.5 to 0.5 and up to almost entire circle of 360 degrees; similarly increased in kinetic energy as the mass become big and fast that it scale up to 10.  When I increased the pendulum mass from 1 to 17.6.  The swing is slower but can exhibit a surge on kinetic energy up to 150!
For whatever odd reasons, the swing of pendulum symbolizes the swing of an axe.  Recalling a talk related to sharpness, heaviness, and projected angular force of an executioner’s axe at the infamous Tower of London in England.  I can see from a physicist’s point of view of a quick and clean beheading, it is rather unsettling experience  reflecting upon ones experience at the public execution site inside the tower!
