Per US Food and Drug Administration, 9 -12 millions American visit acupuncturist annually.  Internationally in Asia and also some part of Europe,  Acupuncturist are flourishing as well.  The stats alone meant a lot regarding acupuncture as an affective energy medicine.  It is not intrusive mostly nor addictive.  Currently in California, there are acupuncture clinics to help and assist patients for pain management. In particular,  assisting cancer patient dealing with side effects like nausea, vomit, and pain.

I really like a statement made by the director of Pain Management, National Rehabilitation Hospital in Maryland stating the bioefficacy of acupuncture as well as manipulations of the needles like twirling, touching vibrations to achieve different effects.
